after feeling a little displaced over the last year it’s nice to have that feeling of coming home. I’m excited to snuggle my puppy and sleep in my bed:).

Holla if you want to come visit me in Hawaii but I don’t think I’ll be back to the mainland until Christmas!

First the kid wanted to wake me up early. Yeah slow down the awes k, be just wanted to watch movies at like 6:30am.

Ummm no.

Since i havent been able to get to sleep before 3am I was cranky.

Later though, he decided to be a boss and help clean the house.

That’s my boy:)

After that we had a fun little lunch date before nap

He’s just full of charm.

After bedtime I got to go for a run

As you can see I was not the only one enjoying the scenery:). It ended up being a great day and now I’m curled up with a glass of wine and a potentially good book.

Ok fine, it’s my second glass, don’t judge.

can you see the crazy in his eyes??!!! That crap started at 8:30 in the AM.

So after heading back to a safe place he started to come down from his sugar high which also meant coming down with a bad@$& attitude. Almost everyone escaped without a scratch but I’m pretty sure these guys got the brunt of the verbal beatdowns

Only after a few more hours could I wrangle this crazy into a quiet place and we all took a much needed nap. I wasn’t so shocked because homeboy only got about 3 hours of sleep the night before.

So anyways, after nap time came more verbal assaults I’m the form of, ” I don’t like this, I want something else!” Or ” you’ve got to be kidding me! Can’t I just watch a movie???” Along with, ” I’m too tired to walk…” Followed by hobbling around and screaming with crazy excitement in a store.

Im not a doctor per-se but I’m pretty sure kids that suffer from lack of sleep share some of the same symptoms as people who are bipolar. Anyone with me?? Buehler…Buehler…

Ok so by the late afternoon I just decided that the day was a wash and we should do whatever possible to just keep him busy until bed.

sure it might all end with a fit of rage followed by tears but that was a risk I was willing to take.

I was in too deep to turn back.

By bedtime E was rubbing tears out of his eyes and promising to make better choices tomorrow. He will hopefully get plenty of sleep tonight and be back to his normal self tomorrow.

After the surviving the big “D” I am older, hopefully wiser and a little rougher around the edges.

I think the hardest thing is convincing people that I’m still me. I think some people have this idea that I must have freakishly morphed into this crazy person who hates life and love but I really don’t think that’s it.
I am honestly just trying to maintain the smoothest path for my kid to follow and hopefully impart the fact that he is loved by God and all his family, especially both his parents even if they aren’t together.

Even though the last year was maybe the hardest of my life, I am finally able to feel more like myself and ready to invest more in my still existing relationships.

That being said, I have had some tough conversations over the past few days and I’m feeling pretty beat down.

It’s hard when you feel like you’re drowning and it’s all you can do to reach out to whatever life vests are closest to you and pray. The idea of yelling out to the people still up on the boat was so far out of my capabilities at the time. Sadly even some of my closest friends felt left out and hurt by my way of coping with the pain.

I honestly had no idea.

They were worried because I didn’t paint a clear picture on the Internet and I didn’t feel like it was appropriate to air my pain or frustrations using that medium.
I can see how that is confusing because to most, my Facebook updates may have seemed trivial or superficial but again, that’s how I chose to cope. So when ” all of a sudden” my marriage was over some people were shocked and heartbroken.

I don’t know what to say, other than I’m sorry. I imagine I will be saying that a lot over this trip and for the rest of my life. People wanted to know why I didn’t just openly talk about my aweful truth but who really does? Who just tells their friends, they are in the worst and most painful situation they can ever imagine? I suppose that is part of the human condition and we just try to do as much as we can on our own but I really did seek out help. Contrary to popular belief, I did turn to God and also sought some wise spiritual counsel.
I guess I feel obligated to write all this because part of me really cares and wants you( whoever you are) to know that I wasn’t just trying to take everything on by myself even if you didn’t hear from me. Part of me is sorry that you didn’t feel you knew how to support me and so you just say quietly and waited for the other shoe to drop. I’m sorry I’m not the most approachable person and I’m sorry I might have intimidated you and that’s why you didn’t want to say anything good or bad to me.
However, there is another part of me that wishes you would’ve just stood up straight, faced your fears and asked me what the hell was going on. I’m getting asked why I couldn’t be genuine or speak up and all I want to say is why couldn’t you? I’m not blaming my situation on anyone else but it sure feels like some are comfortable blaming me for their lack of involvement or knowledge about my situation. Anyway, it’s not all bad. I have heard that it makes my them want to really seek out their friends and know their true hearts instead of just waiting around to hear something.

I’m now a cautionary tail of a failed relationship so you’re welcome.

I’m hoping to end my trip here with a nice Mother’s Day few fun outing but for the most part I’ll be laying low.

Just thought, in the spirit of honesty, I should let you know what was going on.

I’m pretty excited but also a little nervous about traveling with this captain busy pants and his bright pink cast:).

We spent the day getting everything ready and running around so needless to say, mamma and baby wolf are pretty beat.

I wish people believed me when I said that E just goes and goes until he can’t anymore but now I have proof.

yep, that’s happening right now. Maybe he will be in deep enough by the time we board that he will just fall back asleep:)

luckily we Wolfs try to maintain a good attitude in the face of adversity.

This morning the kid and I had a nice breakfast date followed by a not so relaxing walk in the park.

note to self, crazy dog+kid in a wheelchair+kid in said wheelchairs need for independence= frustration with a few tears:/

My parenting strategy hasn’t really changed with this whole situation so in order to get this that kid sleepy I made him push himself in the wheelchair.

it was a little tough but he did great!

It was a wine making and tasting party!

I was in heaven.

It was fabulous! Sitting around talking to beautiful people while drinking wine…perf

Needless to say, my weekend had been pretty awesome. Hope yours is too!

So there we had some fixin to do.

He was super excited about the TV’s in every room. He was least excited about not being able to eat breakfast before he had to go.

That’s my boy.

So we got him all changed and I elected to take him to get the anesthesia.

He was super brave and only freaked out when they put the gas mask on him.

Post-op he was pretty groggy but managed to pound a few otter pops before falling asleep on my hand.

I love that little guy.

He’s recovering nicely and might even get to go home today! Thanks to everyone who has been encouraging and supportive.

I think because I been feeling large, I wanted to hike and run in order to win my next showdown with the scale. I mean, let’s be real, the 4-5 LBS I’m sweatin isn’t going to make or break my life but I might feel just slightly more comfy in my skinny jeans:).
Anywho, this hike started out all normal and fine until about the halfway point when it descended steeply downhill and didn’t qui

I tried not to think about the problems this might cause on the way back but I was assured there was a team or shuttle for the latter part o the hike so I pressed o

It turned out to have a multi-tiered waterfall at the end which was gorge.

I never did find that shuttle but I made it back and promptly stuffed my face. So much for all those calories burned:)
